Types of Us Visas
- The Business Visa (B-1) lets you enter the country for business purposes such as attending a meeting or conference, studying with a training program or investing. You cannot receive a salary from a U.S.-based company.
- The Tourism Visa (B-2) allows visits for tourism, medical treatment or socializing with family and friends.
- The Student Visa (F-1) is for those wanting to study at an accredited college, university or English-language institute.
- The Exchange Visitor Visa (J-1) is for those engaging in a cultural or educational exchange program.
- Several types of visas exist for immigrants with relatives in the United States. These include IR for immediate relatives such as spouses and unmarried children, and F for distant relatives such as brothers and sisters.
