How to Move Text in Dreamweaver

104 4
    • 1). Open Adobe Dreamweaver. Click the "Open..." link/icon on the splash screen. Locate the page with the text to move and double-click the file.

    • 2). Check the top-left area of the workspace, directly under the tab with the name of the page. If the "Design" button isn't clicked, click it.

    • 3). Highlight the first section of text to move. Right-click the highlight and select "Copy."

    • 4). Click another place on the page -- be careful not to click in the middle of another batch of text -- or click one of the pages listed in the "Files" pane on the right side of the screen. If the "Files" pane isn't open, click the small arrow to the left of the word "Files" to open it, then click a page and place the cursor where the copied text should go.

    • 5). Right-click the new place to move the text and select "Paste." Review the page's appearance, as pasting in the text may have bumped or shifted the rest of the page's contents.

    • 6). Click back to the original tab if you opened a new page. Highlight the copied text. Press the "Delete" key to eliminate the duplicate. Check whether this also shifted and rearranged the page's contents, and make adjustments as needed.

    • 7). Click the "File" menu. Click "Save All" if you worked on two tabs, or click "Save" if you had just the one tab open.
