Royal Caribbean Explorer of the Seas Cruise Review
< Continued from page 1
In fact, our relationship become so close, we exchanged email addresses and I've been able to maintain contact with most of them. We all have very interesting lives and enjoy a wide variety of activities. One important thing that I discovered was that we all had a lot in common, we all lived near large cities, we all had sibling(s), we all enjoyed visiting exotic places, we were very curious and astute about many things, and we were alike in personality because we all had compassion, were mature for the most part, and were a little self-reserved and shy.
I could never have found a better match of teens on the ship. That's why it's important to take advantage of social activities because you never know who you may meet or establish lifelong friendships with.
We took advantage of the activities offered and even made our own entertainment and ate pizza, cookies, and cake at the Pâtisserie and played foozball in the billiard centre, located near the promenade. Everyone enjoyed playing in the elevators, especially Jannina. Even though she did not speak much English, we still managed to communicate and share each others affections because we both spoke French and I knew a little German, which was VERY appreciated by her because it made her feel welcome into the group and discovered that you don't have to speak the same language in order to enjoy friendship. She and Rachel spent time together and was the person most connected to her. There were many memorable things I found about everyone else. Wendy was very zealous and willing to do anything as long as it was with me.
Dave was very open to suggestions and was very optimistic. However, he, along with Julian and Eric never quite found a girlfriend even though many girls admired him for his looks, hair, attitude, and most of all his accent. Jena and Wesley hit it off and resembled the perfect teenage couple. Jena had a phenomenal hair style on prom night and her most prominent trait is love. Rachel was very serious but her sense of humor was incredible. What's really cool is that nobody said anything negative about each other and were glad to have each others company. It was a difficult time to say goodbye, but we all have the goal of seeing each other again someday whether it is in five years or forty years.
However, one activity I HATED was playing capture the flag as no one could find the opposing team's flag after spending two hours wandering the ship (at least I got my exercise!). Each day, the relationship between myself and Wendy increased as we did everything together from rock climbing, miniautre golfing at Explorer Dunes, and inline rollerblading. So, I suggest that if you have teenagers and bring them on a cruise, encourage them to open their social network and be a KID while it lasts!
