Walking alongside Durras Lake.
The towering Spotted Gum trees.
The pockets of rainforest.
A walk along a massive fallen Spotted Gum tree.
The raised viewing platform giving you a birds eye view of the surrounding bush.
Many varieties of birds can be spotted including the elusive Lyre Bird.
Wallabies and Kangaroos are also commonly encountered. - Distance.
The Discovery Trail is a 1.
5km loop walk.
It is recommended that you do an optional walk along a part of Durras Lake.
This increases the overall walk to 4kms. - Duration.
For the Discovery Trail only, allow 20 minutes.
With the Durras Lake option, allow a total of 45-60 minutes.
This is walking time only and not allowing for any stops.
it is suggested you double the times to fully enjoy the walk and to have short breaks. - Grade.

Mostly level walking.
One short up and down hill section.
The trail is not paved so proper footwear is required. - Best time.
Early morning and late afternoon is best for bird watching opportunities.
The walk is fully shaded so even at midday, it is worthwhile doing. - Access.
If you are doing just the Discovery Trail, access is via Lake Road which is located halfway up the hill between Depot Road and the top of Mt Agony Hill.
If you include the Durras Lake option, then start at Durras North behind the Holiday Park.
