Outside, Steve tries to charm Hope with the beautiful countryside. Hope is too smart for her own good and knows that something’s up with Bo. Steve plays innocent and claims that everyone’s been through a lot in the past couple of days with all the excitement. Hope questions what he knows, suspecting that Steve didn’t come all the way to Ireland just to bring Grandpa Shawn here. Steve reminds Hope of how long they’ve been friends and how he’s always tried to be honest with her, even when Bo found out that Victor was his biological father.
He then advises Hope to just give Bo some space.
At Victor’s mansion, Billie asks Victor what makes him think that Crawford won’t go after Chelsea. “Well I asked him not to,” replies Victor, who refers to Crawford as a “reasonable man.” Kate disagrees with this statement. Chelsea questions what proposition her grandpa offered Crawford. Billie discourages Chelsea from knowing what Victor said to Crawford. “Your mother is wise beyond her years,” notes Victor about Billie. Roman enters with the autopsy on Ford Decker, which reveals that Ford died from falling down the stairs. Chelsea wonders if this means that she’s off the hook. “Crawford Decker claims you pushed his son,” relays Roman. “But she didn’t,” claims Victor. Billie agrees. Roman says they all believe Chelsea, but warns her that Crawford is looking for someone to blame. The almighty Victor states that Crawford’s been taken care of. “Alright Victor. I don’t think I’ll ask how,” smirks Roman. “Ask what you’d like. He simply had a change of heart, that’s all,” states a confident Victor, who excuses himself to answer the doorbell.
He answers the door to Crawford and leads him into the living room. Roman reveals the autopsy results to Crawford. Crawford says he can accept that. Chelsea hugs her mom in relief. Billie wonders why he’s changing his mind. Crawford claims he’s just doing the right thing, since there’s nothing he can do to bring his son back. Kate apologizes for his loss, rehashing how she knows what it’s like since she thought she lost two children before (Austin and Billie). Victor takes Crawford aside to talk with him privately. He rehashes how he’s lost a child, whose name was Isabella. He chastises Crawford for his “inappropriate” behavior around Chelsea. An intimidated Crawford agrees and offers to apologize. Victor orders him to wait for him in his study while he makes a phone call.
Victor calls Philip and asks what’s going on in Ireland. Phil reveals that they found Claire and fills him in on Colleen Brady and how she tried to get Brady in Austria. Victor intends to send someone there to get as much info out of Colleen and wonders why she’d try to kidnap Claire and Brady in the first place. Phil replies that according to Colleen, it was to keep them safe from Stefano DiMera, since he was using John to carry out a mission. Victor refers to Stefano as a “demented son of a bitch,” and laments introducing John as “the pawn” all those years ago. Philip refers to Colleen as old and frail, doubting that she leads to Brady. Victor asks when he’s coming back, since he needs the plane. Phil says he’ll be there for a while, but can send the plane back, since he can get a lift with John or buy a ticket. (Don’t we all wish it was that easy)? “Dig deep Son,” urges Victor.
Victor then calls his other son (Bo of course), who reveals that they found Claire. He gives Bo an update on Chelsea and shares the news that Crawford Decker is no longer an issue. “That doesn’t sound like the Crawford Decker I know,” says Bo. Victor fills him in on the autopsy report. Bo thanks Victor for whatever it is he did that he doesn’t want to know about. He then questions about the rest of the Theta girls. Victor predicts that the police won’t prosecute Stephanie or the others. He tells Bo not to plan on using his plane, since Crawford will need to use it after his son’s funeral. “A trip on the Kiriakis dime?” assumes Bo. “The least I can do for a grieving father,” jeers Victor. Kayla hugs Bo in relief after he gives her the news that Steph and Chelsea won’t be charged.
Back at the mansion, Kate thanks Roman for getting Chelsea off the hook. A modest Roman can’t take the credit for breaking the case, since there was nothing to break. “That doesn’t mean that I can’t thank you,” says Kate as she gives him a peck on the cheek. Roman doesn’t seem to mind the attention a bit. Victor and a sullen Crawford emerge, where Crawford apologizes for dragging Chelsea through the mud. Chelsea apologizes to Crawford as well. Victor asks Crawford to wait in his study. Roman proceeds to head back to the station. Victor grins and thanks Roman for stopping by. A smiling Roman congratulates Chelsea and shakes hands with Victor, commending him on a job well done. “Chelsea, you are an amazing young woman,” marvels Victor, who also commends Billie on teaching her daughter well. Billie suggests maybe she can put it on her resume, since the university fired her. Victor has no doubt that she’ll find another job, which Kate agrees with. “Well, at this point I’d be happy to take a job at a coffeehouse,” says Billie. Victor offers her a job as Head of Security at Titan in the London office. Billie expresses how interested she is, but Chelsea isn’t exactly jumping for joy. Chelsea encourages her mother to go, agreeing to come visit her. Billie wholeheartedly thanks Victor. Chelsea hugs Victor and tells him that as far as grandfathers go, he’s okay.
Back in Ireland, Kayla and Bo come outside and join Steve and Hope, sharing the good news about Crawford Decker, which Bo says he got from a “very reliable source.” Kayla encourages Bo and Hope to get home to Chelsea. Steve assures them that they can take care of Grandpa Shawn and that everything’s under control. Kayla offers to call the airlines for them. Hope notes that Steve and Kayla are really are trying to get rid of them. Shawn comes outside and asks what’s going on. Bo informs him that they’re going to catch a flight back to the states. Marlena frantically emerges and reveals that John’s run off.
