- 1). Pour 1/2 cup vinegar and 1 tsp. salt into a bowl.
- 2). Stir in flour a spoonful at a time until you form a thick paste, similar to the consistency of peanut butter.
- 3). Dip a cleaning cloth into the mixture and rub the paste onto the brass hardware.
- 4). Cover the entire piece of hardware with a thin layer of the paste and let sit for 10 minutes.
- 5). Rinse the cleaning cloth with warm water to wash out the paste residue.
- 6). Wipe the damp cloth over the brass hardware to remove the paste, rinsing the cloth with fresh water as needed until all paste is removed.
