Hosted over a three-day period in the cities of Belfast and Dublin, the Wedding Journal Show is held twice a year and claims to be Ireland's biggest bridal show, with a capacity of 40,000 visitors and 1,000 exhibitors (as of March 2010). From helping a bride plan her honeymoon to her stationery, dress, cakes and everything in between, this wedding fair is both informative, entertaining and diverse. Throughout the three days, the show features live make-over demonstrations, catwalks with the latest bridal trends, an "ethnic zone" featuring wedding ideas from the Eastern part of the world and speakers discussing everything from bridal diet regimes to advice on how to style your hair on the day. They also have an array of competitions that brides can enter. According to their website, their aim is "to help you plan your day to perfection, bringing together the biggest and best names in the wedding industry."

WED was established in 1989 by Terry Burns and has the longest established wedding show in Ireland, according to its website. With about 10,000 visitors attending the shows annually at its location in the RDS (Royal Dublin Society) Main Hall in Dublin, the Bride of the Year Show runs for two days in January, and the Wedding and Honeymoon Show runs for two days in September.

The Bride of the Year show is aimed at brides and grooms who are planning a spring/summer wedding, while the Wedding and Honeymoon show aims to help a couple create an autumn/winter wedding. Both shows offer attending couples discounts for wedding packages, wedding gowns, bridesmaids dresses, groom wear and hats for family members, and there is specialty advice on hand for couples looking for destination weddings and romantic honeymoons. Catwalk shows take place twice daily. Finally, the show provides the chance for couples to win prizes. Cost is €12 at the door (as of 2010).
