How to Access ISPs
- 1). Find the name associated with the ISP. This is usually the company name. You can find the name in several ways: from an Internet bill, by asking someone what the name of his ISP is, or by using an IP address location website such as IP Address Location, IP Location and IP Tracer. Plug the IP address into one of these to find the name of the ISP if you don't already have it. If you have neither the IP address nor the name of the ISP, you will need to ask the user what the name of his service provider is.
- 2). Type the name of the Internet service provider into a search engine or look in the white pages to find the phone number or address of the ISP.
- 3). Call the ISP phone number and identify yourself as someone who would like more information. Typically, there is a limit to the amount of information the ISP can give you about themselves or about a specific user. However, you can usually get information such as their general location, the exact name of their company or even what type of Internet they offer by asking questions.
