How to Solve Your Dog"s Jumping Problem

103 5
85% of the dog owners out there are struggling to solve their dog jumping problem.
A lot of dogs jump on their friends and family when they come over in the house to visit them.
The reason dogs jump is because they are extremely social animals and they want to greet us and they throw everything into it.
Another reason why the dogs jump is because ever since they were puppies they were invited to jump by the owners by saying "here boy here sweetie" and when he jumps in their arms he gets praised with "good dog.
" The first thing what you need to do is to teach the dog that greeting has to be done with all four paws on the ground.
In order for the jumping training to work you have to make sure everybody that comes into contact with the dog is consistent with it.
You can`t have dad inviting the dog in his arms to jump and then later mom trying to prevent the dog from jumping.
The dog gets confused, so no dog jumping policy in your house.
So when the dog jumps on you, simply grab his paws.
Not too much to crush him, but enough to make him struggle for a short second.
Dogs are very sensitive about their paws.
Next when he will want his paws back you let him go and say "off".
Don't say down because that is the laying down command.
When he is off and down on the ground you praise him telling what a good dog he is and stuff like that.
Next time when he jumps you grab his paws say "off", let him go down to the ground, reward him and let him calm down for a few minutes because dogs are excited a lot when they want to greet you.
