How To Remove Autocad Software
- 1). Close any open programs or files by clicking on the "X" in the upper right-hand corner of the open dialog box.
- 2). Click "Start", "Control Panel" and "Add or Remove Programs." If your computer is running Windows Vista, click on "Programs and Features".
- 3). Scroll down the list of programs. Locate and click on "AutoCAD XXX." The "XXX"s represent the version number of the program---2008, 2007 or another version number.
- 4). Click "Remove" to start the uninstall process. Click "Uninstall" when the "Installation Wizard -- Maintenance Mode" dialog box opens. If uninstalling an older version of AutoCAD, 2007 or older, click "Yes" when prompted to start the uninstall process.
- 5). Click "OK" when prompted. If prompted to restart your computer, click "Yes" or "Restart". You will be returned to the "Add or Remove Programs" listing after your computer restarts. If not, repeat Step 2.
- 6). Repeat steps 3 through 6 to remove any AutoCAD modules remaining on your computer. Each module will be listed with the wording "AutoCAD" in its file name.
- 7). Click "Start," "Turn Off Computer" and "Restart" to restart your computer after the last AutoCAD module is removed, if your computer doesn't automatically restart.
- 1). Click "Start" and "My Computer." Double click on the "C:\" drive. Double click on the "Program Files" folder. If using Windows Vista, double click on the "ProgramData" folder.
- 2). Right click on the "AutoCAD" folder. The folder will have a version number in its file name--"2008" or another number. Select "Delete." Click "Yes" when prompted with are you sure you want to move the folder to the Recycle Bin. If using Windows Vista, delete the "Autodesk" folder.
If you see additional AutoCAD or Autodesk folders, right click on the folders and delete them also. - 3). Double click on the "Common Files" folder. Right click on the "Autodesk Shared" folder. Select "Delete." Click "Yes" when prompted with "Are you sure you want to move the folder to the Recycle Bin?"
If you see additional AutoCAD or Autodesk folders, right click on the folders and delete them also. - 1). Click "Start" and "My Computer". Click "Tools" and "Folder Options". Click on the "View" tab.
- 2). Click on the circle by the wording "Show hidden files and folders". Click on the box next to the wording "Hide protected operating system files" to deselect this option.
- 3). Click "Apply" and "OK". Double click on the "C:\" icon.
- 4). Double click on the "Documents and Settings" folder. Double click on the "All Users" folder. Double click on the "Application Data" folder.
- 5). Right click on the "Autodesk" folder. Select "Delete". Click "Yes" when prompted with "Are you sure you want to move the folder to the Recycle Bin?"
- 6). Click on the back icon on the upper left-hand side of the "Application Data" folder. Click on the back icon again to return to the "Documents and Settings" folder. Click on the folder containing your username.
- 7). Double click on the "Application Data" folder. If using Windows Vista, double click on the "AppData" folder.
- 8). Right click on the "Autodesk" folder. Select "Delete". Click "Yes" when prompted with "Are you sure you want to move the folder to the Recycle Bin?"
If using Windows Vista, double click on the "Roaming" folder and delete the "Autodesk" folder. - 9). Click on the back icon on the upper left-hand side of the "Application Data" folder. Double click on the "Local Settings" folder. Double click on the "Application Data" folder. If using Windows Vista, double click on the "Local" folder.

Right click on the "Autodesk" folder. Select "Delete." Click "Yes" when prompted with "Are you sure you want to move the folder to the Recycle Bin?"
If using Windows Vista, delete the "Autodesk" folder. - 11
Click "Tools" and "Folder Options". Click on the "View" tab. - 12
Click on the circle by the wording "Do not show hidden files and folders". Click on the box next to the wording "Hide protected operating system files" to select this option. - 13
Click "Apply" and "OK". Click on the "X" in the upper righthand corner of the open dialog box to close it. - 1). Click "Start" and "Run". If using Windows Vista, press the "Windows" key on your computer's keyboard and "R" key together. Type "regedit" in the box next to "Open:". Click "OK". The "Registry Editor" application will open.
- 2). Scroll through the entries in the left pane of the "Registry Editor" screen to the entry "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Autodesk" entry. Click on the entry. Press the "Delete" key on your computer's keyboard.
- 3). Scroll through the entries in the left pane of the "Registry Editor" screen to the entry "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Autodesk" entry. Click on the entry. Press the "Delete" key on your computer's keyboard.
- 4). Click the "X" in the upper-right hand corner to close the "Registry Editor" application. Click "Start", "Turn off Computer" and "Restart" to restart your computer.
AutoCAD is now removed from your computer.
