- 1). Put a bath towel down on a table. Put the PSP on the bath towel with the LCD screen down and the disc door lid facing away from you.
- 2). Slide the battery lid off of the left side of the PSP with your fingers. Pull the battery out of the battery compartment with your fingers.
- 3). Remove the screw from each side of the disc door lid using the Phillips-head jeweler's screwdriver.
- 4). Remove the screw from the bottom-middle edge of the PSP.
- 5). Remove the three screws from inside of the battery compartment.
- 6). Scratch off the sticker inside of the battery compartment with the tip of the screwdriver.
- 7). Remove the screw revealed from under the sticker.
- 8). Turn the PSP over. Hold the bottom of the PSP with your right hand. Grab the left side of the top of the PSP with your left hand.
- 9). Pull the faceplate up and off of the bottom of the PSP with your left hand.

Insert the tip of the screwdriver beneath the black metal bracket at its left side inside the bottom of the PSP. Wiggle the tip of the screwdriver to loosen the black metal bracket. - 11
Repeat this procedure on the right side of the black metal bracket. Pull the black metal bracket out of the bottom of the PSP with your fingers. - 12
Turn the PSP around so that the disc door lid is now at the bottom facing you. - 13
Place the tip of the screwdriver beneath the left side of the LCD panel. Wiggle the tip of the screwdriver to loosen the LCD panel. Repeat this procedure on the right side of the LCD panel. - 14
Lift the LCD panel up off the bottom shell using your fingers. - 15
Pull the two connectors attached to the LCD panel out from the motherboard using the tweezers. - 16
Place the LCD panel down on the bath towel. Insert the tip of the screwdriver between the LCD panel and the LCD screen on the left side. Wiggle the tip of the screwdriver to loosen the LCD screen from the LCD panel. - 17
Repeat this procedure on the right side of the LCD panel. - 18
Gently separate the LCD screen from the LCD panel with your fingers. Place the LCD screen down on the bath towel.
