Frigidaire Refrigerator Not Blowing Cold Air
- If the refrigerator is not blowing cold air, it may be possible that the temperature control has been turned off or set too low. Turn the temperature control dial past "0" to a temperature control number. If the Frigidaire refrigerator has a control panel, press "Refrigerator" then the down arrows to set the temperature to a colder setting. Keep the refrigerator and freezer doors closed, as much as possible, for the next 24 hours so that the desired temperature can be reached.
- If the power supply to your Frigidaire refrigerator has been affected, the unit may not be cold or able to function correctly. Inspect the power cord and push it all the way into the outlet. Check the household fuse or circuit breaker and replace or reset as needed. Frigidaire recommends using a 15 amp time-delay fuse. Contact an electrician for assistance if necessary.
- Most Frigidaire refrigerators have an automatic defrost cycle, which usually runs once or more in a 24-hour period. During the defrost cycle, the refrigerator will not blow cold air. The defrost cycle lasts about 30 minutes; then regular function returns automatically.
- If the condenser fan becomes dirty or clogged, the refrigerator cannot blow cool air as normal. Disconnect the power to the refrigerator and access the back of the unit. Use a soft brush to clean the condenser fan. Open the front access kick panel and use a vacuum cleaner to suction out the condenser coils, which look like a wide, thin black device. Close the access panel and restore power to the refrigerator.
- Contact Frigidaire for assistance if the above troubleshooting efforts do not restore cooling to the refrigerator as there could be problems with the defrost timer, thermostat or refrigerant level, and these issues should be addressed by a professional.
