- 1). Click "Start" and then click "Control Panel."
- 2). Click the drop-down menu next to "View by," then click "Small icons."
- 3). Click "Device Manager."
- 4). Click the arrow to the left of "Modems" to expand the list of modems installed on your computer.
- 5). Right-click on your PCI modem and then click "Properties."
- 6). Click the "Modem" tab at the top of the application window. Your modem's COM port will be listed next to "Port" at the top of the window.
