The oldest of four children, James initially worked in the music industry promoting clubs and DJ-ing, and eventually began acting in community theatre. This prompted him to move to London to study at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts. During a modeling excursion in Los Angeles, he attended an acting class at the Ivana Chubbuck Studio in Hollywood. This inspired him to study acting in Los Angeles for another two years before finally landing his first American television job on "All My Children," where he was fortunate enough to work opposite with beautiful leading ladies Alicia Minshew and Terry Ivens. Unfortunately, the show decided to let James go. Thus, his character was tragically killed off in an explosion.
What was "All My Children's" loss was "Days of Our Lives" gain, since James has created quite a stir as the evil but charming EJ Wells. Viewers have especially loved his electifying scenes with Alison Sweeney, who plays Sami on the show. With his handsome demeanor and sexy British accent, he has become the ultimate DiMera villian that fans love to hate and possesses undeniable on-screen chemistry with just about everyone he works with. James is contracted with the show until 2009.
