7 People or Things That Can Possibly Ruin Your Wedding
Your wedding is or will be the most important day of your life.
It is a moment in time you will want to cherish forever.
Many people capture this special occasion with pictures and videography.
Others might also save and frame their invitations.
Your wedding will leave a lasting impression on your parents, the grooms parents, and guests.
Therefore, It is essential everything goes exactly as planned.
However, this is not always the case.
There are several people or things that can possibly ruin your wedding: intoxicated relative, tardy guests, horrible food, boring reception, incompetent wedding planner, overzealous parent, and redundant vows.
1.
Intoxicated relative- It is outright embarrising when one of your relatives get drunk during your reception and start slurring little secrets that were suppose to be kept between you and your spouse.
It is even more outrageous every time you play your wedding video and have to experience the nightmare all over again.
The best advice I can give is not to invite those relatives you know have drinking problems.
2.
Tardy Guests- Out of all the people or things that can ruin your wedding, I think a guest arriving late is by far the worst thing that could happen.
When guests arrive late they distract the attention away from the bride because it is a natural reaction for people to look toward them.
My suggestion is to make guest aware on their invitation that if they do not arrive to your wedding at the appointed time, the doors will be shut.
3.
Horrible Food- Bottom line, if your food is horrible do not expect guests to stay till the end.
Trust me, I have first hand experience.
My husband, daughters, and I went to a wedding where the appetizers were excellent but the main course wasn't great.
The steak was dried out and tasteless.
We left after the first bite and jetted to the nearest McDonalds.
4.
Boring Reception- In my opinion, horrible food and a boring reception go hand in hand.
If the food is horrible guest most likely will not stay.
If the reception itself is boring guest probably won't stay either.
Most guests go to a wedding with the intent of eating well and having a good old-fashioned time.
Furthermore, guests don't want to be bored with out-of-date music or no music at all.
If you are considering having a no dance reception consider other things like having a comedian or magician perform.
Maybe you can have a friend or relative sing you and the groom's favorite song.
5.
Incompetent Wedding Planner- I know I mentioned that having tardy guests can ultimately ruin your wedding, but hiring an incompetent wedding planner takes the cake.
If you have a wedding planner who shows early signs of being disoriented and unorganized run fast.
It is paramount that you hire a wedding planner that thinks on his/her feet, stern with guests, and passionate about his/her job.
The main reason for hiring a wedding planner is to keep the bride stress free and looking good for her big day.
Make sure you do your homework before hiring a wedding planner.
6.
Overzealous Parent- It is one thing to have a devoted loving parent, but it is another when you have a parent who is overly barring and intensely devoted to planning your wedding without your consensus.
My only suggestion is to let your parent know that you love him/her dearly, but would love it if you could add your personal touch since; after all, it is your wedding.
7.
Redundant Vows- This is a big issue because every time you attend a wedding the bride and groom are reciting the same vows that their parents spoke twenty something years ago.
You will get a better reaction from your guests if you spoke from the heart and gave your own point of view on the future of your marriage.
Make sure your wedding is memorable.
Yeah, it could be the most talked about wedding in town, but is it because your uncle Tony got drunk and started a strip tease or because they enjoyed the scenery, reception, food, and entertainment.
