- 1). Find the IP address of the remote computer by navigating to the What is My IP Address website. This is necessary in order to make the connection.
- 2). Open the Remote Desktop Client and input in the IP address of the remote computer.
- 3). Press "Connect."
- 4). Enter in a username and password (if required) and press "OK."
- 5). Open the "Start" menu and click on the "Run" button.
- 6). Type in "msinfo32" and press "Enter" to find all information about the computer.
