How to Choose the Right Cruise

Don't worry, be happy and let us help you find a cruise that fits your needs.
This will be short and sweet, with our 7 best tips.
By the way, if you haven't been to the warm, hospitable country of Mexico, make it a must-go vacation.
  1. If traveling with children, choose a cruise line with strong kid programs, such as Disney Cruises (new cruises to the Mexican Riviera beginning 2008) and opt for the early dining seating since most children cannot wait until 8 or 9PM to eat.
  2. Travel agents are a Godsend.
    Use one you trust.
They will smooth the way for your vacation and get you perks you cannot find on your own.
  3. Insurance offered by a third party will cover events outside of the country that your private insurance and possibly the cruise lines will not.
    Check with your travel agent.
  4. Carefully consider peak vs.
    off-peak seasons.
While off-season may have better prices and fewer crowds there are a few lines (very few) that offer deep discounts during hurricane season, which is from June - December.
  5. If you are not looking forward to huge partying crowds, don't travel during summer vacation or holidays.
Spring Break in Mexico is loud and crowded.
Some cruise ships are geared for the party life, while others are more sedate and refined.
    Most are somewhere in between.
If you are looking for the next wet T-shirt contest or believe you have a chance of winning the ship's belly flop competition, we suggest the party ships.
(They are a lot of fun!)
  6. When you fly into the port city of your cruise, it is better to arrive a day early and stay at a hotel overnight, boarding your ship the next day.
This way you can allow for unforseen delays and still arrive on time.
  7. "Should I book early or book late?," is a question we are often asked.
Book early to receive available early bird discounts and book early for the best choice of cabins.
Ships with the best prices tend to sell out quickly.
We know that if you are a first time cruiser, once you go, you'll be hooked.
Ask your travel agent to explain the atmospheres of the different cruise lines which travel to the destination you want, and then get out there and have fun! See you at sea.
