- 1). Download a free anti-spyware program, such as Spybot Search & Destroy, Lavasoft Ad-Aware or Spyware Doctor (see "Resources" below).
- 2). Install the anti-spyware program by following the on-screen prompts.
- 3). Open the software. Choose to run either a full scan or a customized version. Click the "Scan" button.
- 4). Wait as the program scans the entire computer. This process can take a good deal of time.
- 5). Click the "Remove" or "Quarantine" button after the scan is complete.
- 6). Confirm deletion of the spyware by clicking the "OK" button.
- 7). Close the program and restart the computer.
