- 1). Visit espacenet.com, the official search site for the European Patent Organization.
- 2). Select "Advanced Search" to display the full list of search options.
- 3). Use the "Select Patent Database" pull-down menu to select "EP" to restrict your search to European Patents. If desired, you can also conduct a worldwide search of patents.
- 4). Enter your search terms in the appropriate search fields and click "Search."
Search terms can be the name of the person or company who submitted the patent, a patent number, the title of the patent, or a description of the invention. A search for EP patents with the term "extreme ultraviolet" in the title, for instance, produces close to 100 results. - 5). Click the title of any patent in the search results list for which you want to retrieve the full patent documentation.
You can also build a list of patents to view in full by clicking the "in my patents list" box next to each title of interest.
