Understanding Compact Tractors

103 10
When purchasing a tractor, one of the most important things to take into consideration is the power and size that you really need.
Tractors that are too small or weak just won't get the job done.
Tractors that are too powerful for your needs will need big, unnecessarily and expensive investments and will probably take much more storage room than you can give.
In order to find a middle ground between home garden tractors and powerful farm tractors, manufacturers have come up with compact tractors.
These type of tractors are smaller versions of agricultural tractors, usually with a bit less power, but still more powerful than garden tractors.
Unlike agricultural tractors, the compact types are designed mainly to perform tasks related to landscaping and estate management tasks, such as mowing and trenching.
On the other hand, they're not as efficient for planting and harvesting on big scales, although with the proper implements, they can set seeds and fertilizer on smaller areas.
They are also very good for towing objects or other vehicles.
Compact tractors are invaluable in places with big, green areas that don't require planting, but do require a lot of maintenance, like golf courses, parks and hotels with great, natural surfaces.
Compact tractors usually range from 20 to 50 HP.
Since power is one of the main things that affect price, potential buyers have to carefully evaluate their present and future needs before making a purchase.
When in doubt between two compact tractors, it's better to get the most powerful one, as needs will tend to increase with time.
In fact, if the future needs are very different from the present needs, it's recommended to buy a tractor that has much more power than needed at present, so that it won't become obsolete quickly.
