Cat owners who have struggled with cleaning up litter box misses, oversprays, cat sickbed accidents, or messes in the cat carrier, will appreciate the tough strength and versatility of Catpaper. I have discovered several non-cat uses for this product, and I bet readers will find even more. It is so simple, yet so ingenious an idea that one wonders, "what took you so long?"

Find a Need and Fill It

Litter box messes have been a perennial problem for cat owners. Even the tidiest cat will sometimes overshoot the box; high sprayers will decorate the wall behind the box, and most cats will either throw litter outside or deposit bits next to the box off their feet. It all goes with the territory. Since I have one of each type of cat, the prospect of one product that would take care of all those problems was exciting. Jaspurr is a high sprayer and he doesn't like covered boxes, so it was a simple solution to tape a pad of Catpaper on the wall behind the box. Bubba, old trooper that he is, has only recently been introduced to litter boxes (he's been an indoor-outdoor cat for most of his 16+ years.) He knows what the litter box is for - he scratches vigorously in it both before and after pooping. But he sometimes hangs his butt over the box and most of it lands on the floor. Catpaper to the rescue!

Lightweight But Tough

Catpaper is very lightweight. The soft topside is waffled, and extremely absorbent.

It holds up to 2.4 fluid ounces per square foot, with no leakage. This makes it possible for vertical placement for high sprayers, without the fear of urine running down the wall, and also makes cleanup a breeze. Just pick up by the corners and discard.

Other Uses for Catpaper

These are some accessory uses for this versatile product. Imaginative readers will surely find more.

  • Lining Cat Carrier
To guard against messy accidents on trips, line the carrier with a layer or more of Catpaper.
  • Lining Birthing Box
Two or three pads of Catpaper will make an easier job of cleaning up the mess after birthing.
  • Lining Kitty's Sickbed
For one reason or another, sometimes cats can't make it to the litter box in time. A layer of Catpaper in the bed will help with cleanup when these accidents happen.
  • Target the Hairball
When you hear that hacking sound, quickly put a piece of Catpaper down as a target. Most cats will cooperate.
  • Lining the Litter Box
Some cat owners have found that cats will use their litter boxes with nothing but Catpaper as "litter."
  • Use as a Food and Water Mat
Keep your cats' food and water station neat by placing a large piece of Catpaper under the bowls to catch dribbles and splashover.

Non-Feline Uses for Catpaper
  • Cioppino Bibs
Restaurants usually provide them, and with a pad of Catpaper pinned to your garment, you can scarf up cioppino in style, without leaving greasy stains on your clothing to tell the world what you've been eating.
  • Lining Placemats
I like the look of fabric placemats, but they don't always do the job of protecting my oak table from wet spills. Give your placemats an assist by putting a pad of absorbent Catpaper under each one.
  • Lining Car Trunk
If your car trunk is like mine, it can become the repository for messy things, such as wet umbrellas, leaky ice chests, or muddy shoes. A layer of CatPaper will take on the brunt of the mess, leaving your trunk reasonably clean and dry.
  • On-the-Fly Diaper-Changing Mat
Not really in my baliwick, but it seems to me that carrying a supply of Catpaper would help keep things sanitary when you find the need but can't find a convenient changing station.

In addition to the 20" x 16" pads, Catpaper comes in 20" wide rolls that can be cut to size. I have no connection with Catpaper, but it's a product that does exactly what it's advertised to do, and that always turns me on.
