One might think the recent drama over the debt crisis with one side wanting to increase or maintain spending and the other side wanting to drastically cut spending but that is far from the truth.
So has the US already begun to default on its debts and is the day of reckoning coming for us all soon? In spite of the rhetoric sayings being thrown around the real debate is over how much government spending will increase in the coming months.
There really is no solid plan here and the cuts are all just illusionary.
They are not cuts that are currently being spent.
Lets say the smith family save money by deciding not to buy a Lamborghini, and instead they decide to purchase a Mercedes.
But realistically their budget dictates they should stick with their serviceable Honda.
If your families income did not change in the last 12 months.
Would it be wise to increase your spending so that you would feel richer? That is what our government is doing and the consequences are going to be catastrophic.
They are putting a band aid fix on the cancer patient.
If we keep spending at current levels by the governments definition of cuts, that would save about 400 billion dollars in the next few years.
Just by holding the line on spending we could save billions.
But the government refuse to consider doing this.
For them, it is all about spending more, or cutting mandatory services.
It is almost like the government know we are collapsing and they are helping or accelerating the process.
If politicians implemented actual cuts to actual spending we would have a much better chance of recovering as it would give the economy a chance to catch its breath.
But the economy is in such a shambles that there can be no quick fix.
The quick fixes are why we are in this mess but the government continues to do this over and over again.
The real meaning of insanity is to do the same task over and over and expect a different results.
Right now the government is insane if they think they can fix this with more spending.
But that is where they can get access to more money.
The hard working Americans still do have money and while they do, the government feel as they are entitled to it.
