An estimated one-third of Americans are currently considered overweight.
A lot of us get overweight by having such busy schedules, there's no time to work out! Having to eat on the go and not eating at a decent hour...
just a couple of the many reasons why so many Americans are overweight.
So if you're one of the people who have a busy schedule, you might think to yourself often "What will help me lose weight?" Safe and permanent weight loss is possible, even if you have a busy schedule.
Once you understand the science of burning fat you understand the simple basic steps it takes to shed pounds.
Basically, each person has their own average amount of calories they take in everyday.
Two thousand calories per day is considered average.
Take the time to measure the amount of calories you take in everyday; it's as simple as reading the back of the box and writing it down.
After writing it down every day for one or two weeks find your average amount of calories per day.
Whatever your average number is, the first thing you need to do is slowly cut that number down.
Don't cut it in half the first day of your day, but slowly take off 50 to 100 calories every few days.
Don't go below 1700 calories a day, you really don't need to.
If that's all you're taking in now then your problem probably isn't eating too much, it's eating too little.
You need to eat frequently to keep your metabolism going so your stored energy or fat gets burned.
Also, start paying attention to the fat content of the foods that you are eating.
Trans fats are the worst, so try to stay as far away from them as possible.
Try to stick to more natural dishes, like a salad, for snacks during the day.
Cereals are great for breakfast if they don't have too much sugar in them (something like Cheerio's).
Try to eat six meals a day instead of the traditional three, just cut the size of each meal in half and try to cut the fat content of each meal down as far as you can.
Quick research online can show you tons of dishes that are low in fat and taste GREAT.
Make sure you're doing some kind of weight-training routine at least once or twice a week, along with a majority of cardiovascular.
Whether you're a man or woman, lifting weights is an excellent weight to burn fat.
You can burn fat and gain muscle at the same time, and lifting weights makes your metabolism soar! If you don't like doing cardiovascular workouts, switch off weeks between weight lifting and cardiovascular.
