How to Decorate a Wagon for Flower Girls
- 1). Decide whether you want to permanently change the color of the wagon with paint, or if you just want to cover the wagon for the wedding. Once the decision is made to buy either paint or a large piece of material in the desired color for the wedding, paint the wagon or cover it with material. The material can be hot-glued to the wagon for added security and then stitched together on the underside. After the wedding is over, the stitch can be cut, the hot glue will peel off and the wagon will be back to normal.
- 2). Add a lace or tulle skirt to the wagon. Either glue it to the wagon or gather and sew it to a piece of elastic three inches shorter than the length around the wagon.
- 3). Give the wagon its own train. The train can be sewn to the material if the wagon is covered. Or two small holes can be drilled on the back of the wagon and the train can be tied to these holes using stitching. Or find another place to attach the train to the wagon if your wagon has a few other parts that lend themselves well to this.
- 4). Hot-glue real or fake flowers to the wagon. Fake flowers can be glued on in advance. Real flowers will need to be glued on the wagon on the day of the wedding, unless a large freezer or refrigerator is available for storing the wagon with flowers glued onto it in advance.
- 5). Fill the wagon with live or fake flowers, live or fake flower petals, small pieces of ribbons and your choice of any size confetti for the flower girl to toss.
