One could think of The Mighty Aztec as an amplified Aperol Spritz. While that may give you a good idea of what to expect, there is so much more to this cocktail.

The Mighty Aztec remains simple and is another fantastic example of how the bitter orange of Aperol is perfect in a sparkling cocktail. Here, we are adding an aged tequila, a little sweet and sour, then topping it off with a fun, new soda.

The soda of choice defines the cocktail because no other sparkling water has the clean, crisp cherry taste of DRY Rainier Cherry. It is a great soda to enjoy on its own and, as this cocktail proves, perfect for mixing. It is dry and a contrast to most fruit sodas that we are familiar with, which are often too sweet and unnaturally flavored.

Instead of taking over the cocktail, the soda accents it and helps make The Mighty Aztec a fantastic drink. Enjoy it as an aperitif or sip on this drink any time of day, it is refreshing either way.
