How to Clean Cow Hide
- 1). Assess the quality of the cowhide. The better it is, the more time should be invested in cleaning it properly.
- 2). Dust little-used leather with a lint-free cloth or a soft brush. Don't use a fluffy duster as the fluff will get caught in the leather.
- 3). Wet a soft cloth so that it is damp. Gently rub the affected area of the cowhide. Rinse the cloth and repeat the process.
- 4). Allow the cowhide to dry naturally. Never put it next to an artificial source of heat.
- 5). Maintain any sheen with the occasional use of a quality, scentless furniture wax. Rub a very small amount in using a lint-free cloth.
- 6). Store the leather somewhere where it can breathe. Never keep it in plastic or somewhere subject to extremes in temperature, such as a loft.
