I Want to Stay Friends With My Ex and They Are Ignoring Me!
Do you want to stay friends? Is your ex ignoring all of your calls? Are you trying in vain to contact them? Then stop! I know breaking up is one of the toughest things we go through in life, but I can assure you that all is not lost.
If you follow my simple advice, then you will be well on your way to gaining back a valuable person in your life.
Everybody needs time to adjust to single life.
If your ex is not replying to your messages, then chances are they simply aren't ready yet.
They haven't gotten over you.
The more you contact them, the longer this will take.
Please stop now.
Being friends after a breakup takes time.
There will still be feelings for a long time to come.
The best way to get over this hurdle is to stop communication.
I really cannot stress that enough.
That does not mean only cut back or only ring on a Sunday.
It means STOP.
I suggest you repeat the word to yourself until it is etched permanently upon your cerebral cortex.
How long do you stop for? Stop until you are ready.
How do you know you are ready? When you know you can talk and communicate as friends, and ONLY as friends.
There should be no ulterior motive- no secret plan to win them back, no secret plotting.
Also, stay positive.
Nothing should get you down.
Now is the time to take a shopping spree, get a load of friends around and generally keep busy.
Write down a list of 20 things you have never done but would like to do.
Make them good.
Now do them in every spare minute you have.
Socialise as much as possible.
This serves two purposes: firstly, it keeps your mind occupied, and secondly, it gives you time to decide whether or not you are ready to take your next move.
If the relationship has any chance of re- awakening, then your ex will have contacted you.
If they haven't, then I suggest you try to stay friends.
This is the time to contact them.
Nothing too forceful, just drop them a line explaining that you miss their company and would like to be friends.
With any luck, they will contact you and all will be good.
It is too early to lose hope.
If you play your cards right you will get your ex back.
Good luck.
