    • Minnesota county associations represent the needs of workers around the state. These associations provide members with the tools that they need to perform their jobs, including seminars, continuing education classes, journals and legislative updates. Minnesota county associations work with workers such as administrators, attorneys and probation officers.

    Association of Minnesota Counties

    • Minnesota has 87 counties and the Association of Minnesota Counties, or AMC, was formed to give administrative and legislative professionals the tools they need to govern their counties. To help its members govern their communities, the AMC gives members benefits including meetings, training programs, conferences and seminars. In addition, the association has several publications including the AMC Update, which gives members the latest information on what is going on in the state legislature, as well as the federal government; and Minnesota Counties, a newspaper that is published five times per year to give members updates on what is going on in the association.

      The Association of Minnesota Counties also gives members the opportunity to participate in a number of the organization's committees. For example, the general government policy committee addresses topics such as correctional facilities, economic development, taxation and personnel; the transportation committee addresses transportation, tourism and economic development; and the health and human services committee tackles topics such as social services, healthcare and jobs.

    Minnesota Association of County Probation Officers

    • The Minnesota Association of County Probation Officers promotes quality practices and policies in the state's probation system. The association, also called the MACPO, works to advance the knowledge of probation professionals in areas such as offender accountability, restorative justice and victim restoration. In order to do this, the MACPO offers education programs for those in the corrections field, where they learn topics such as victim services, DNA testing, home electronic monitoring, motivational interviewing and psychological testing.

    Minnesota County Attorneys Association

    • The Minnesota County Attorneys Association works to improve the justice system around the state. The association, also known as the MCAA, provides training for legal professionals, continuing education courses and publications to its members.

      The MCAA has several committees that address the issues unique to different practice areas, including juvenile law, civil law, appellate law, criminal law, real estate law and Indian law.
