Information on the Medicine Toradol
- Toradol comes in white round tablets with red print. They each contain 10mg of ketorolac tromethamine along with inactive ingredients. Each tablet has a "T" on each tablet side with "ROCHE" on one side (the manufacturer), and "TORADOL" on the other (the brand name).
- There is no dosage approved for those under 17 years of age. From 17 to 64 years of age, the dose is 20mg once, then 10 milligrams every four to six hours without going over 40mg a day. For those over 65 years old, or for those with renal impairments and/or weight under 110 pounds, the dose is 10mg once, then 10 milligrams every four to six hours without going over 40mg a day.
- The peak effect of ketorolac tromethamine is two to four hours after ingestion. Larger dosages of the drug only lengthen the time duration of the effects.
- Side effects from use include flatulence, ulcers, stomach pain and diarrhea/constipation. There can be dizziness, heartburn, vomiting and nausea. Other side effects include headaches, drowsiness, rashes and sweating.
- Several risks have been associated with Toradol usage. These include gastrointestinal and cardiovascular problems, bleeding risks, and the risk of renal impairment.
