How to Get Wrinkles Out of a Print Painting
- 1). Unfold the print and lay it on a flat surface. Carefully fold the creases backwards, taking care not to tear the paper.
- 2). Place a clean sheet of white paper over the print to protect it. Set the iron to a low heat setting and iron along the creases.
- 3). Lay the print between two large sheets of glass. Weigh the glass down with heavy objects such as books or boxes filled with pebbles. Allow it to sit undisturbed for 30 days or more.
- 1). Lay the print face down on a towel covered in waxed paper and lay another towel on top.
- 2). Set an iron with a steam function on low heat and iron along the lines where the creases are. Use the steam button moderately to steam out wrinkles.
- 3). Hang the print in a humid environment, such as bathroom while a hot shower is running, as an alternative. Gently coax the wrinkles out of the print by stretching or pressing with a heavy object, but take care not to damage the paint.
