End Processes

• 1). Press "Ctrl" + "Alt" + "Delete."
  
  
• 2). Click "Start Task Manager." The Windows Task Manager opens.
  
  
• 3). Click the "Processes" tab in the Windows Task Manager.
  
  
• 4). Locate each of the following processes and end them. To end a process, highlight the process, and then click "End Process." Most users have less than 100 processes running at any given time; thus it should only take a couple of minutes to locate all four processes you need to end.

Delete Registry Values

• 1). Click the "Start" button to bring up the Start menu.
  
  
• 2). Type "regedit" into the search text box and click "Continue." The Windows Registry Editor opens.
  
  
• 3). Locate the following registry values in the left pane of the Windows Registry Editor and delete them. You must delete the registry values individually by right-clicking each registry value and selecting "Delete."

  "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Antivirus"
  "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Antivirus"

• 4). Close the Windows Registry Editor.
  
  

Delete DLL Files and Directories

• 1). Open the Start menu.
  
  
• 2). Type "cmd" into the search text box and click "Continue." A command prompt window opens.
  
  
• 3). Type the following commands at the command prompt. Press "Enter" after each command.
  
  "regsvr32 /u shlwapi.dll"
  "regsvr32 /u wininet.dll"
  "rmdir ProgramFiles\ANTIVIRUS 2008
  
  
• 4). Close the command prompt window.
  
  

Delete Files

• 1). Press the "Windows Key" + "F." The Advanced Search window opens.
  
  
• 2). Search for each of the following files and delete them. To delete a file, right-click the file and select "Delete."

  "wininet.dll"
  "AntiVirus2008.exe"
  "Uninstall Antivirus.lnk"
  "AntiVirus 2008.lnk"
  "AntvrsInstall.exe"

• 3). Restart your computer.
