How to Avoid Snoring With a Sinus Infection
- 1). Take all prescription drugs completely as prescribed by your doctor. Curing the infection will eventually stop the snoring. You can also take over-the-counter decogestants for more relief as well.
- 2). Raise the head of your bed by four inches. This can help reduce the amount of mucus draining down your throat and blocking your nasal passages.
- 3). Use a nasal/sinus rinse. These are designed to flush heavy mucus and debris out of the nose. Rinses can bring some relief during an infection.
- 4). Place a nasal dilator strip on the bridge of your nose. This opens the nostrils and can ease snoring. Some even come with a menthol scent that can produce clearing of the nose and sinuses while physically opening the nasal passages.
- 5). Sleep on your side. This helps keep the muscles in your neck and throat in alignment. Since they're doing extra work because you're congested, this can help ease snoring during infections as well.
- 6). Have a warm bath or shower. Hot moist air helps drain the mucus out of the sinuses.
