Once seven friends came to the town. All the enemy soldiers patrolled the streets. This example of their courage is also a great instance of their close and strong friendship. They went into the town in order to save Lee, one of their friends. Lee got shot, so his friends wanted his parents to heal him. Lee needed to get to the shop of his parents. So the guys sneaked into a war zone. No wonder the territory was surrounded by the numerous armies of soldiers. Every moment the teenagers could be shot. But the guys were brave enough to realize no place would be safe till the war would be over.
The most terrifying part in the book is when the kids are planning a bridge demolishing. The enemy troops were often using the bridge to transport the goods. So the object was incredibly important for the enemies. To destroy the bridge meant to make the enemies suffer at least for some time. The guys were planning to park the petrol tanker under the bridge. Then they would light a fuse and the bridge would be blown up. This task had the importance of their lives.
