- According to SR22Guide.com, Georgia drivers must purchase and file SR-22 coverage if they commit a DUI or DWI, cause and are charged with being at fault in a traffic accident, lose their license due to suspension or revocation, or accumulate multiple traffic tickets or infractions, such as reckless driving. A driver may also be required to purchase SR-22 in Georgia if he refuses a breath analyzer test at a DUI or DWI stop.
- Uninsured drivers in the state of Georgia may also be required to purchase SR-22 insurance if they are caught uninsured behind the wheel. As of January 2009, the state's minimum insurance requirements include liability and uninsured motorist protection coverage for all drivers.
