- 1). Unplug the washing machine or remove the power to the outlet at the circuit breaker or fuse box. Move the appliance away from the wall so you access the rear panel.
- 2). Remove the three screws holding the top panel in place lined up along the top of the rear panel. Lift the top panel off and set it to one side.
- 3). Disconnect the wiring connecter attached to the rear left side of the control panel and release it from the plastic harness.
- 4). Remove the detergent drawer by extending it as far as it will go and pushing down the release tab at the back. Remove the screw left of the detergent drawer positioned down a small hole.
- 5). Release the tab on the right side of the control panel and use a flat-head screwdriver to pry the console upward. The controls come out of the washing machine providing full access.
