How to Plant Cyclamen in Zone 3
- 1). Put a layer of small stones in the bottom of the pot. Cyclamen grow best in well-drained soil.
- 2). Plant the cyclamen tuber with its top at the same level as the soil or slightly above. Planting the tuber too deep increases its susceptibility to crown rot.
- 3). Water the cyclamen until the excess water drips out of the bottom of the pot. Continue to water the plant whenever the soil dries out, until it stops flowering in late spring and becomes dormant.
- 4). Keep your cyclamen in a shady, cool indoor spot. Too much sun causes the leaves to droop and turn yellow.
