How to Clean Sofas Made From Polyurethane Foam
- 1). Unzip the upholstery cover over the foam. Thoroughly vacuum the surface with an upholstery attachment to remove any loose dust and debris.
- 2). Fill a spray bottle with an all-purpose liquid fabric cleaner. This can be purchased at your local hardware store or in the cleaning supply section of your favorite retailer.
- 3). Spray the entire foam surface with the fabric cleaner.
- 4). Place the cushion in the tub or take outside. Rinse area thoroughly with a spray nozzle and hose or handheld shower head.
- 5). Squeeze (but don't wring) the mattress to remove any excess water. Allow to dry thoroughly.
- 6). Spray the couch lightly with water and dab with a clean, dry cloth to remove as much of the fabric cleaner as possible. Move to a sunny location to dry.
- 7). Rub a small amount of baking soda into area after foam is dry. Pour a small amount of hydrogen peroxide over baking soda. Rinse area clean.
