    • 1). Insert the password reset disk in your computer's drive. Reboot the computer, loading Windows XP to the log-in screen.

    • 2). Press "Ctrl+Alt+Del" to bring up the password text box. Type "administrator" in the "User name" text box and type any value in the "Password" text box. Press "Enter." A window opens notifying you that the password is incorrect.

    • 3). Click the option labeled "Use your password reset disk" in the password warning window. This option starts the recovery process. Click "Next" in the first window. Windows XP connects to the reset disk and logs you into the computer.

    • 4). Type a new password in the next window in the "Password" and "Verification" text boxes. Click "Next." The password you entered is the new administrator password. Click "Finish" to close the reset wizard window.
