Bill Passed Banning Tattoos
Should Tattoos be Banned???
The Arkansas Senate recently PASSED a bill to ban certain tattoos, body piercings and other what they characterized "non- traditional" body modifications. Now am I the only who thinks tattoos are "non-traditional" body modifications?? I have tattoos and I've never seen anything like mine and I know there aren't any that exist like mine because my tattoo artist, Russo, literally designed them from what I described to him that I wanted.
Tattoos are form of expression for the artistic, the ones in hurt or pain, or just for someone that had a crazy night in Vegas. Anyways, back to the story âEUR¦ Senator Missy Irvine of Arkansas sponsored the bill to ban certain tattoos, body piercings and "non-traditional" body modifications. The bill is titled "An Act to Limit Body Art Procedures." She said that the purpose of the bill is to limit body modifications to "traditional" tattoos and piercings. Her plan is to ban scarification and dermal implant procedures, as well as certain tattoos which have not been determined as to what exactly they are.
The bill was passed with a vote of 26-4. What I would like to know is how many of these politicians have tattoos or piercings? Or even their kids? Or how many of their wives have implants? The bill, when sent to the house, was compromised; meaning they removed the scarification but did ban the dermal implants unless the procedure was performed by a doctor. One of the articles I read about it said that the bill had very vague language, which to me sounds like they are just uncomfortable with tattoos and body piercings; not concerned with the public safety of body modification. The bill's language was so vague that it raised even more question as to what they were meaning by "traditional" tattoos versus "non-traditional" tattoos.
Pro Tattoos!!
I am definitely against this bill to ban tattoos. Now, dermal implants really aren't my thing but, hey, who I am I to tell you that you can't have that. It's the same things as an Orange County Housewife getting a boob job or a facelift; which to me is worse than some dermal implants on some occasions. Tattoos tell stories about history, about life, love and the list go on and on. Why does our government think it is ok to ban something like this? We are we are and the government should not be able to regulate what we put in or on our bodies.
