To work the needlepoint design, choose odds and ends of threads and fibers as well as small pieces of needlepoint canvas available in your stash. Enlarge the pattern as needed by changing the canvas mesh size or adding a needlepoint border.
The completed needlework would make a great drink coaster to take to the beach or a summer vacation home. It can also be finished into a novelty pin cushion, stand-up figure or even a mini pillow. Get as creative as you like with other ideas.
One of my favorite ideas is to place the completed needlepoint into a ready-made picture frame (without the glass) and embellish the frame with seashells collected during one of my family’s many trips to the beach.
