How to Migrate a Website to Drupal
- 1). Download Drupal from the Drupal homepage. Uncompress the installation file into your chosen directory.
- 2). Create a database location and user name. Run Drupal's installation script. Change all appropriate user settings to those of your choosing, including user name and passwords.
- 3). Using your current content management system, export your site data using its administration interface. Depending on your needs, determine what format to which you want to export your data.
- 4). Search Drupal's home page for plug-ins that will allow you to import content directly from a wide variety of content management systems. Find and install the appropriate plug-in, and import your site data. It is usually possible to import comma-separated values (CSV), MySQL databases and text directly into Drupal using the administration panel.
