How to Plant Durana Clover
- 1). Remove all of the weeds and large rocks from the food plot with the rake. Pull out any large weeds by hand. Break up any clumps of dirt with the hoe or rake. Plant the clover in the early spring once the ground warms up to at least 55 degrees Fahrenheit.
- 2). Add 2 to 3 inches of compost to the soil and work it into a depth of 5 to 8 inches to improve the condition of the soil. Add 1 lb. of 10-10-10 fertilizer to the soil for every acre as well. Work the fertilizer into the soil to a depth of 2 to 3 inches with the hoe or rake.
- 3). Sprinkle the durana clover seed over the soil at the rate of 30 to 40 seeds per square foot.
- 4). Cover the seeds with a ¼ inch dusting of soil. Spread the soil by hand.
- 5). Water the planted clover until the soil is moist. Keep the soil moist until the clover sprouts.
