    • 2). Close the laptop monitor, lift the laptop up, and set it back down with the bottom of the laptop facing up. Rotate the Lenovo ThinkPad X200 laptop so that the back of the laptop is next to you. The battery is located in the lower-right corner.

    • 3). Slide and hold the battery-lock latch, located above the left side of the battery, to the left, then pull the battery out of the battery bay with the other hand.

    • 4). Locate the hard-drive cover along the middle-right edge of the Lenovo ThinkPad X200 laptop.

    • 5). Remove the screw above the left-side of the hard drive cover using a Phillips screwdriver, then remove the hard-drive cover.

    • 6). Grab the pull-tab in the center of the hard-drive bracket and pull the bracket out of the Lenovo ThinkPad X200 laptop.

    • 7). Pull the rubber rails off the long sides of the hard-drive bracket, then remove the four screws from the edges of the hard drive bracket that secure it to the old hard drive.

    • 8). Insert the new hard drive into the bracket, then replace the four screws that secure the hard drive to the bracket.

    • 9). Press the two rubber rails onto the long sides of the hard-drive bracket, then slide the hard-drive bracket into the hard drive bay.

Slide the cover back over the hard-drive bay and replace the screw that holds it into place.

    • 11

    • 6). Push the memory module down to lock it into position.
