- 1). Disconnect the dryer power cord. Open the door.
- 2). Remove the screws on the inside door frame. Close the door.
- 3). Lift the top panel up and back to rest on its hinges.
- 4). Lift the front panel up to disconnect it. Unplug the door switch connector. Set the front panel aside.
- 5). Remove the screws holding the shroud in place in front of the dryer drum. Lift the shroud out of the dryer cabinet.
- 6). Move the idler pulley toward the left to loosen the belt. Slide the belt off the pulleys.
- 7). Lift the drum out through the front opening.
- 8). Remove the screws leading from the outside of the drum to the tumbler inside the drum.
- 9). Lift the defective tumbler out of the drum. Position the new tumbler in its place.

Install the screws securing the tumbler to the drum. - 11
Replace the drum inside your Maytag Neptune dryer. Position the belt around the drum and pulleys. Move the idler pulley toward the right to add tension to the belt. - 12
Replace the shroud in front of the drum. Reattach the screws securing it to the cabinet. - 13
Replace the front panel. Connect the door switch harness. Lower the top panel. Install the screws inside the door frame.
