2006 Charger R/T Specifications
- The Dodge Charger was originally released in 1966. The Charger was Chrysler's muscle car to compete in the market and on the road with other fastback muscle cars, such as the Ford Mustang and Plymouth Barracuda. Production of the muscle car version of the Charger ceased in 1974, but the Charger was brought back to life in 2006 and is still produced today. The 2006 Charger R/T is the high-performance model.
- The 2006 Charger R/T comes with a 340-horsepower, 5.7-liter V8 engine that produces maximum horsepower at 5,000 rpm. The engine's maximum torque is 4,000 rpm or 390 feet-pounds. Available for the 2006 R/T is a 350-horsepower, 5.7-liter V8 engine. Both engines can achieve about 17 miles per gallon (mpg) during city driving and about 25 mpg on the highway.
- The 2006 Charger R/T comes with an five-speed AutoStick transmission. This type of transmission allows the driver to use automatic gear selection, or drivers can tap the shifter left or right for manual gear selection. The Charger R/T is a rear-wheel drive vehicle with anti-lock brakes, rack and pinion steering, and electronic stability control.
- The 2006 Charger R/T supports seating for up to five people. Standard seat material is leather, with available simulated leather/suede. The driver's seat features eight-way power direction controls, while the passenger seat features four-way direction controls. The Charger sports four-wheel disc brakes and driver and passenger front-impact airbags. The Charger also comes with side-impact bars. Available airbags include first and second row curtains.
