Recently while watching a movie on the cable TV about the subduing and subsequent killing of a Red Indian tribal chief, the Sitting Bull in Sioux, one was reminded of the violent history of the Americans. Right from day one the White Man fought the natives, the Red Indians to build up the present America. The 200 year history of the United States of America is full of violence. They first neutralised the natives by virtually exterminating these like some kind of vermin and physically stole their lands. In our school days we were fond of watching the western Hollywood movies about the Red Indians. They were always portrayed as the marauders attacking American white settlements that would fight them bravely. The Red Indians were the roaming bands of wild savages which the American whites were trying to tame and civilise. After clearing the reserves of these natives and civilising them, the White Man imported the black slaves from Africa. These blacks also had to suffer a lot and did not get their rights for a long time. This year for the first time in 200 years a black president was elected. Even though the blacks are supposed to have equal rights yet there is very subtle discrimination. Some people still refuse to accept the black equality and continue to openly discriminate. Ku Klux Klan like organisations still exist. George Bush was not a deranged individual given to violence and discrimination. He represented a sizeable chunk of Americans given to violence and racial discrimination. The American Civil War was another long violent episode. Thus violence has been part of American history. At present, there is absolutely no ban on sale and possession of guns. Like the Afghans, gun had been in the early days of American history a part of their culture. In spite of getting civilised, the Americans have not given up the gun mentality. They have built the worlds most formidable war machine with nuclear weapons of all types and sizes. They were the only people to use the atomic bomb against civilian population and caused the death of millions of Japanese. In the present global armament markets the half of the share of a total of $ 950 Billion comes from USA. They claim to be the leaders of the Free Democratic World but are in fact aggressive super cops going to extremes for their own selfish ends. Most of the violence in the last century and the beginning of the present one can be attributed to them. They jumped into Second World War on the side of the free world against the Fascists but ended by bombing out millions of Japanese civilians. They are the only country to have used a nuclear device to enforce Peace. Immediately after the War they turned against their war time allay USSR. Again the enemy of the free world was stated to be Communism which had supposedly replaced Fascism. In the second half of the twentieth century, colonialism was disappearing everywhere. Imperialist powers were losing their colonies one after the other in different parts of the world. National Liberation movements were building up in all colonies. Americans claiming to be the leaders of the free world took over Vietnam from the French who had faced defeat from the Vietnamese freedom fighters. This was done to check the spread of Communism. The story of America in Vietnam is too horrible and too well known to be recounted. My Lai massacre, Agent Orange used to destroy foliage, and carpet bombing are some symbols of American brutality in Vietnam. Americans are guilty of the worst war crimes in Vietnam. RAMBO is a product of Vietnam. In the end the Americans had to retreat in disgrace. They could not stand against the might of the common people! However, they did not learn any lessons.

The Anglo-Saxons had stabbed the Arabs in the Middle East with the dagger of Israel. It was a very clever move. Basically it were the Christians who virtually exterminated Jews in Europe under the Hitlers Final Solution pogrom. However, these clever people put the Jews in the heart of the Arabs to wage an eternal fight. The Jews who had migrated in large numbers to USA meticulously took control of the American economy and monopolised the capital. They became the main supporters of Israel. It seems the Americans are always looking for troubled spots and like the now popular Hollywood series, the RAMBO are ready to jump in regardless of the consequences. Somehow they cannot give up their cowboy mentality. By extending total physical, financial, military, and moral support to Israel, the Americans are not only advancing the agenda of the Zionists but are continuously denigrating and humiliating Arabs in particular and Muslims in general. They cannot tolerate growth of any Muslim state which may seem a threat to Israel. The first Gulf war was intended to give a destabilising push to the growing power and popularity of Saddam Hussein. They killed two birds with one stone. Firstly, they secured the energy sources in Middle East and secondly they gave a destructive blow to an anti-Israel regime. They also got an opportunity to test all their new weapons. Interestingly they collected from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Japan, and other countries over $ 80 Billion to fight the Gulf war. However, in the final tally they spent only $ 70 Billion or so and made a good saving. Moreover, the armaments used came from the American factories which exhausted their old stocks. The real joke of the war is that the Arabs after getting Kuwait and some other places totally destroyed by the American action allotted all the reconstruction contracts to American firms! The second Gulf war was to completely destroy Saddam who had survived the first assault.

Afghanistan is a similar story. To defeat Russians the Americans created the hype of Jihad. They funded, trained, and equipped the Jihadist forces to drive out Russians. Osama Bin Laden was an American creation. It was Islam against the infidel Communists. Once the Russians were defeated and out of Afghanistan, the Americans washed off their hands and left the country to its fate. Osama who had seen through the American game plan paid them back in their own currency at the World Trade Centre through 9/11. In true Wild West fashion, the Americans retaliated with closed eyes. The result is the present mess in both Afghanistan and Pakistan. An uncontrollable flood of militants with no stakes at all. They dont even have any Marxian chains to lose! Fate of Pakistan which used to be the bulwark of Americans against Communism under SEATO and CENTO is pathetic. Even though the Americans overtly claim to be supporters of Moderate Pakistan, in the heart of their hearts they cannot tolerate a nuclear armed Islamic state. Their ultimate aim is to take control of the Islamic Nukes. After completely neutralising Iraq and driving the Afghans back into Stone Age, the Americans have now Iran in their cross-hairs! They consider it to be the last bastion of Islamic resistance and the ultimate threat to Israel.

Sometimes the Nature has its own strange ways of humbling the bullies and the tyrants. All these recent military adventures have cost American people trillions of dollars. The result has been a tremendous setback to the economy triggering a global recession. All the bail out packages are failing to arrest the downslide. Militarily, the Americans are in a mess both in Afghanistan and Iraq. They dont know how to get out? There is a saying that Those who live by the sword, shall die by the sword! The famous poet of the east, Dr. Iqbal has said that the Western Civilisation will commit suicide by its own dagger! Ultimately America may face the same fate.

Keeping in view the violent history of Americans and their present prejudices and biases against Muslims and Islam, one fails to understand why Kashmiris eagerly look towards America for becoming their Saviour? There seems to be an inexplicable dichotomy or could it be that the theory about the Jewish origin of Kashmiris is really true? If so, then the attraction to Americans is justified. It is a good topic for research by the scholars of the University of Kashmir.
