Jesus is the Answer - Three Reasons and Nine Benefits of Promoting Jesus Christ and His Kingdom
Given the current economic and political upheaval around the globe, it seems apparent more than ever that Jesus Christ and the principles of his kingdom are the answer to the major problems of the world today.
This article proposes three reasons for promoting Jesus Christ as the Savior of the world and nine benefits for living by the principles of his kingdom.
First, there is but one universe.
As the universe has design and order, this speaks of a designer and organizer.
That designer and organizer is God.
God created all human beings and wants every man and woman and child from every tribe and nation on earth to be a member of his kingdom and family.
Second, humans are basically self-centered and prone to promote their own interests over the interests of others.
When those interests are threatened, most humans will do whatever it takes to gain their "fair share" even violate God's and their own personal ethic to have what they think they need.
This violation of God's law is called sin.
Sin is merely missing the mark of God's best in our lives.
In order to save us from our sin, God sent his Son Jesus to rescue us.
As Jesus said, "God did not send his son Jesus Christ into the world to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through him.
" Jesus Christ, as an example for us, stepped out of his royal throne and became a man to reveal to us the character of God and, then, died for us as a sacrifice for our sins, so that we might have a personal one on one relationship with God.
Third, in general, the people of the world live in fear.
They live in fear of spirits.
They live in fear of corrupt authorities.
They live in fear of the future.
And, they live in fear of death.
God does not want us to live in fear.
God wants us to live in the security of knowing that he loves us and wants the very best for us.
God wants us to know that he has the power to protect us from all harm.
God also wants us to know that he is very interested in our individual lives and cares to provide for our well being.
He wants us to be filled with a deep sense of love, joy and peace.
The best possible life for all is discovered in the principles of God's kingdom.
The world is full of suffering and despair.
The pain and suffering are due to the rejection of God's ways and the selfishness of man perpetrated on others around them.
The following are the benefits of living according to the principles of God's kingdom: oServant leadership - In many parts of the world governing officials reign to serve their own self interests.
In the kingdom of Jesus Christ, leaders work to serve the interests of all within their jurisdiction.
oCaring for the sick - No faction or group has ventured to care for the sick like Christians.
In many religions of the world, folks with illnesses are thought to be defective and deserving of their poor fate.
Christians see each person as a member of God's creation and care for them as such.
oAssisting the poor - Records show that Christians help the poor more than any other group in the world.
They believe abject poverty is a crime and that all people should have their basic needs met.
oEducating the next generation - Christians are well-known for building schools to educate people in all areas of the globe.
oPromoting equality of opportunity - The kingdom of God is open to all comers.
Those who adhere to the principles of God's kingdom believe each person should have equal opportunity to prosper in this world.
oEquality of gender - In the kingdom of Jesus Christ there is no distinction between male and female.
Men and women alike are created by God and masterpieces of his hand.
Women were very important to Jesus' ministry and life.
oEquality of race - There is no hierarchy of race or ethnic group within God's scheme of things.
God receives all peoples as members of his kingdom.
The Bible promises that folks for every tribe, tongue and nation will be in heaven.
oRecognizing the beauty of all colors - It is God who create red and yellow, black and white.
Every race of people on this round ball we call earth is a special member of God's creation.
God welcomes all into his family.
oAcknowledging the importance of every talent and occupation from the head of state to the housekeeper who cleans his room - In God's sight, a janitor is just as important as a president and stable boy is just as important as a king.
God made every person and gave them each special gifts and talents for the betterment of society.
In God's economy a baseball player is not worth any more than the groundskeeper of the stadium.
It seems more apparent than ever that Jesus Christ and the principles of his kingdom are the answer to the major problems of the world today.
