What Is the FFA Salute?
- The official FFA salute is the United States Pledge of Allegiance, which members perform during the closing ceremony at every local, state and national meeting. The salute states: "I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."
- FFA advisers and knowledgeable members emphasize the importance of pronouncing the salute exactly as its punctuation implies; they place no pause between the phrases "one nation" and "under God."
- The FFA exhibits patriotism at each level and promotes active citizenship among students. Exceptional members are invited to WLC, an annual summer conference in Washington D.C. focused on developing positive leadership skills. This event includes tours of Arlington National Cemetery, the Washington Monument and other significant national landmarks.
