This is such a good question, what are the best ways to quit smoking" But it is also a difficult question to answer and I should know, because I also struggle with this nasty habit.
So let us just consider some of the options available and I will take this journey with you, my fellow smokers, and perhaps we shall all learn something that might prove useful.
Most smokers do have a sense of awareness about their health, I know I do! Do you? We realize that smoking is bad for our health and no matter how many healthy meals we eat, not matter how much we exercise, we know that we really should try to do something positive to stop the habit.
Smoking can, and does kill! There are so many methods which have been touted as being the best way to quit smoking, but how are we to know which one is the best.
Apparently the best way to stop is to just simply say I have had enough and have done with it.
But his is easier said than done.
Charles de Gaulle, (a President of France), was a heavy smoker of (I hate to mention brands, but here goes) Guillois.
And anyone who has ever smoked this brand knows they are of a very strong variety.
Anyway to cut a long story short, one day he looked down at the cigarette he was holding in his hand and said to himself "these things are controlling me, I am not controlling them", this was his epiphany moment.
He put out his cigarette and never looked at another one again.
He did not like the idea that something as inanimate as a cigarette would have such control over him.
If you have waited for your epiphany moment and it hasn't come along.
What to do? I know that mine hasn't! While quitting smoking will ensure you are able to lead a longer and healthier life, how to go about doing this is another matter entirely.
Perhaps we can travel along this road together and with support from each other, manage to quit.
