Why Do You Find More Bugs Each Time You Run the Spyware Doctor?

104 3

    Threats Not Removed

    • The free trial version of Spyware Doctor only scans your computer for threats and does not remove them. In order to actually remove the spyware, you must first purchase the full version of the program. Also, though Spyware Doctor includes an anti-virus program, the main focus of the software is on removing spyware. Because of this, the program may not have the capability to detect and remove all virus threats installed on a computer.

    Downloader Viruses

    • There are certain viruses that install on a computer and act as a downloader. These threats actually seek out and install other viruses from the Internet, multiplying the threat. If the Spyware Doctor was not able to detect and remove a downloader program on your machine, that program will continue to run and install new malware. This would cause you to find new bugs each time you scan.

    Email Protection

    • Spyware Doctor requires users to download and install a plug-in in order to protect against threats from emails. If you do not have this plug-in installed, it's possible that viruses and threats from your email and inbox could be re-infecting your computer. Each time you scan with Spyware Doctor, you would find threats installed again, until you eliminate the source of the email virus in your inbox.

    Updated Definitions

    • New viruses are always being discovered on the Internet. Because of this, anti-spyware developers must release updated definitions to protect computers against the newest threats. If you do not keep Spyware Doctor updated, it may not detect all viruses and spyware on your computer. You may also find new threats if you scan your computer after updating your software. This is because the newest definitions may detect threats that the old definitions could not.

    Quick Scan Option

    • Spyware Doctor offers a quick scan and full scan option for your computer. The quick scan option will scan the main parts of a computer that are usually most effected by malware. However, only a full scan will detect spyware that has installed outside of these areas. The quick scan will usually find most issues on a computer, but there is the chance that it may miss threats as it does not scan the whole computer. If this threat is a downloader, it may be re-infecting your computer with spyware and viruses.
